Basic Film Transitions—Best for Your Video Editing

Video editing involves highly of scene transitions that allow one scene to move smoothly to another. It is a technique that helps portray the exact progression of one emotion to another. Inappropriate application of film transitions may lead to some confusion on the scene representation.

The basic types are usually the best scene transitions on film editing. They have been prominently used through the test of time on the big screen. They are simple, easy to use, in the most creative filming effect. These are the most effective ways to transition to the next scene.

  1. Cut

This is the commonly used film transition since the beginning of filmmaking history. This is usually applied when a scene is instantly replaced with another. Technically, a cut is frequently necessary for the movement of the scenes, but, it mostly imposes an interpretation from the viewers as to why the film needs to move onto the next scene. Mainly, it serves for the effect of juxtaposition to achieve the completion of the storyline.

  1. Dissolve

Dissolve is also popularly known as overlapping. To gradually insert the next scene from the current one, editors apply this type of transition. For a very brief period of time, almost only for a fraction of a second, both scenes are visible altogether. On scenes where the story tries to tell a significant channel of time, this film transition is the perfect application for the desired outcome.

  1. Wipe

This is a very dynamic form of film transition. With animations, creative graphics, and special effects. Customarily seen in sci-fi and futuristic films, this projects the most imaginative transitions of scenes and actions.

  1. Fade-In/Out

This is another prevalently used film transition throughout the years of the filmmaking industry. Fade-ins are applied mostly used at the beginning of the film to introduce solid colors to the picture. Fade-outs, on the other hand, is used during the end of the film to reduce the picture slowly replacing with either plain black or any other solid color.

Fades are quite dramatically used because of its capability to provide an intense effect, especially towards the end of the film. Some filmmakers even use it to end a film series to leave quite an impression to its viewers.

  1. Iris

The Iris is an old-fashioned way to apply in a film. Iris originally looks like a pupil dilating or contracting to give either an introduction or a conclusion effect. However, other editors use other shapes as well with the same type of movement.

Black Panther Review

The best new Marvel is movie is currently in theaters. Black Panther debuted with massive success at the box office. The film has an incredible 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, beating The Avengers, which has a 92% fresh on the top movie rating website. There are many people who have already seen the movie and are thrilled about it. Those who haven’t are sure to do so soon. They should be just as sure to go read the truth about how Highster Mobile works so easily.

It's important to learn how Highster Mobile works.
Marvel has brought a new superhero to the table: Black Panther.

One of the most exciting things about Black Panther is that it’s the first black superhero to get their own solo film. This is important for anyone that values equality and progress. Black Panther wasn’t rated well just because it’s a historic first; it is an excellent movie. Like many films, it’s not perfect, but there are plenty of reasons to like the Black Panther, and even more to look into why it’s important how Highster Mobile works.

The Black Panther

Record-Setting Opening Weekend

The first notable thing about the release of the film is that it has set records during its first weekend in the box office. Black Panther reeled in $192 million at the box office, the fifth-biggest opening of all time. It beat out all the other Marvel movies except for the first Avengers. In its record-setting, the film also broke the record for best opening weekend by a black director!

Wakanda is the fictional African country that is depicted in the film. It is a country that has kept itself isolated from the rest of the world to protect itself from invasion due to the powerful mineral it possesses called vibranium. This is the metal that gives the Black Panther his powerful suit, and a local herb gives him his incredible strength. Much of the film’s plot encircles Wakanda’s insistence on remaining isolated from the rest of the world, and the pro’s and con’s of them coming out of hiding.

Chadwick Boseman as the Black Panther

One of the best parts of the film is Chadwick Boseman’s portrayal of Black Panther. He does an excellent job portraying the superhero, in his first rendition of the character since Captain America: Civil War. Boseman delivered a stellar performance, and viewers won’t have to wait long to see him in action again, since he has already been seen in the trailer of Avengers: Infinity War.

Michael B. Johnson’s Antagonist

Michael B. Johnson plays another important character in the film. He plays the antagonist, known as Killmonger. There were a lot of great things about Johnson’s performance, and the young man is definitely a talented actor. There was, however, something missing when it comes to the complexity of his character. Killmonger, the apparent villain of the film, mostly comes across rather childish. His lines are often short and too pop-culture-y. It would have nice to have a more complicated antagonist in the first Black Panther film.

Besides the simple, black-and-white villain, Black Panther is an enormous success, both at the box office and on the screen. Wakanda is depicted beautifully, and the backstory has now been set to give us years of who may become the world’s new favorite superhero: Black Panther.

Want another great movie? I always recommend John Wick, Chapter 2. And, don’t forget to go find out the latest and greatest information about how Highster Mobile works.

Did you use a reverse cell phone lookup to find a friend to see John Wick 2?

John Wick: Chapter 2

The second installment in the John Wick series has been out on DVD for a while now. You can probably still find it at a Redbox outside your local Walmart, CVS, or Walgreen’s. Try doing a reverse cell phone lookup to see where else you can rent it. What started as an overly violent action movie, starring Keanu Reeves, has continued to be, well, an overly violent action series starring Keanu Reeves. But this has proved to be Reeves’ best work since The Matrix. While a John Wick trilogy won’t be as influential on pop culture as The Matrix, it’s still incredibly entertaining.

The John Wick series kicks off in the first movie, where Wick comes out of retirement from the life of an assassin to seek revenge on the men who killed his dog and stole his car. It winds up being a fast-paced, shoot-’em-up like few the world has seen before. What makes John Wick different from other action movies is not only the pace, but the stoic nature of its protagonist. Reeves brings a refreshing take to the genre.

The Second John Wick

John Wick 2 ended up being as good as the first one, at least in my opinion. It scored 3% better on Rotten Tomatoes, and times out as a true feature-length movie at a full 2 hours, while the first was just 96 minutes. When seeing the first film, I used a reverse cell phone lookup to contact my friends and invite them. The second film got an 89% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is a very respectable score, especially for an action movie of its nature.

Another Revenge Movie

As far as the plot, the film ended up being another revenge movie. A man who helped Wick in the first film comes back, asking him to come out of retirement in order to help him with something (killing someone). Wick refuses and the man ends up blowing up his house, along with many of the mementos of his late wife.

Movie posted for the second John Wick movie.

This leads John Wick on another rampage. First, he fulfills the request of the man who blew up his house in order to clear his name. He then goes after him, in a fashion only Wick is capable of. The bad guy ends up putting an enormous bounty on Wick’s head, sending an entire world of underground hitmen after him. It’s important to be careful who you talk to, so don’t let something like this happen to you. Run a reverse cell phone lookup on anyone you’re not entirely sure about.

Wick is “Excommunicado”

Without giving away too much, the film ends with Wick being excommunicated from the brotherhood of hitmen that he had connections with. Before the closing credits, the head of that organization puts an even bigger bounty on him.

The Negatives

While it’s an entertaining film, both of the John Wick movies make most of the killing seem easy – almost too easy – for Wick. He shoots many of his enemies with two shots, one in the knee and one in the head. Plus, he virtually never misses. A fight against another hitman (played by rapper Common) in John Wick: Chapter 2 is the most balanced fight in the movie.

A Third John Wick

The way the film ended lead me to believe that there will be yet another installment in this series of action movies. The third John Wick film already has a working title: Alpha Cop. It even has an official release date of May 19th, 2019.

Techy Ways To Make Your Oscar Party A Hit!

The Academy Awards are this Sunday, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel! Which celebrities will win an Oscar this year? You have to watch to find out! There’s no better way to watch it than by having an Oscar-themed party. After you use an address finder for a party location, you should try these techy ideas to spice up your celebration!

Send E-Invitations

Nothing is cooler than sending personalized e-invitations! They show your guests that you’re really putting some thought into your party. Some card design ideas include a Hollywood star, a red carpet, or a classic, sparkle gold background. There are plenty of websites that have free Oscar-themed e-invites to choose from, too. Some of them are Evite, Punchbowl, and Pingg. Plus, your guests can use the information on your invite and immediately go to an address finder to learn more about the location of your party.

Official Oscars Challenge

Who will be an Oscar winner?
Who do you think will receive an Oscar this year?

This year, the Academy has created the Official Oscars Challenge. All you have to do is login via Facebook and cast your ballot for who you think is going to win an Oscar Award. No party is complete without everyone casting their ballots! To tie in the social media aspect, you can ask your friends on Facebook to cast their ballots as well. This way, they submit their ballot beforehand and everyone in the party can see each others ballots. Then on party night, you can check and see who had the top ballot! A plus is that you get entered to win a trip to next year’s Academy Awards. All you have to do is use an address finder to find out how to get there. How cool!

Make Sure to Have a Large Television

The key to any viewing party, whether a sports game or awards show, is having a large and clear television. Having the wrong TV, or one that’s way too small, can ruin a party. No host wants that! If you have a large television, great! If you don’t, either go buy a new TV or rent one for the night. Some great stores to purchase a TV include Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. To rent a TV for the night, you can try Rent-A-Center or Aaron’s. But before you do either of these, make sure you have a clear budget.

Have a Photo Booth

No Oscar party is complete without a photo booth. You can rent one, if you have the money, or create one yourself. Just make a simple, red carpet-esque background, include accessories for your guests to use in photos, and a camera, of course. Possible DIY photo booth accessories include beads, fake Oscar awards, hats, boas, and honestly, anything you could imagine. Take it up a notch and ask your guests to dress up! If you don’t have a camera, tell your friends they can just snap an Oscar selfie!

Create a Party Hashtag

Nothing is more personalized than creating a hashtag specifically for your party. Consider whether you want your hashtag to be traditional or creative. For a more traditional hashtag, you could do something like “#Oscars89AtAmys” or “#AmysOscarParty2017.” They’re simple, straightforward, and most likely will not be taken. If you want something more creative, there are so many possibilities. You could create a hashtag for whatever movie your party is rooting for, like La La Land. You could also do something more comical like, “#OscarWinnerBeLike” with a photo or video. My only advice: make sure your hashtag isn’t being used! Otherwise, it won’t be clear which photos on social media are from your party.

Overall, you should find a reason to throw an Oscar party, small or large! Be sure to contact us if you’re looking for more tips. It’s always great to hang out with friends and family. Make sure to cast your Oscars ballot and watch it this Sunday!
